Kagan Nomination Faces Challenge

Senate confirmation may prove to be a challenge for Elena Kagan. Some lawmakers are concerned about her lack of judicial experience.


Sitting In Judgment

Elena may have some tough sledding,
Winning over the folks on The Hill,
Who will challenge Obama’s selection
And question the nominee’s skill.

It’s not that lawmakers don’t like her
Or withhold any true admiration.
But the lady has had no occasion
To do any real arbitration.

Some senators question her background;
It’s not that they hold any grudge.
Though Elena has had many duties,
She’s had no practice at being a judge.
