The people of Hiroshima, Japan marked the 66th anniversary of the bombing that ended that nation's war with the United States. The world’s first A-bomb attack destroyed most the city on Aug. 6, 1945. Prime Minister Naoto Kan renewed his country's pledge to embrace renewable energy in the wake of the recent nuclear plant meltdown.
