Americans from coast to coast are celebrating with brass bands and fireworks. It’s all part of flag-waving ceremonies to mark our nation’s declaration of independence from British rule.
It All Depends
The fourth day of July,
As is plain for all to see,
Marked our founders’ battle cry
And the day that they broke free.
It ended all aggression
From their cradles to their graves;
It meant no more oppression
For all – except their slaves.
