President Obama is said to have decided on new troop levels for the war in Afghanistan. According to reports out of Washington, the president will reveal his decision after Thanksgiving.

The American people are holding their breaths
To learn how many troops may be sent to their deaths.

Obama's War Council has heard the Chief say
We'll "finish the job" on his watch, well, some day.

He's preparing a speech to give, chapter and verse,
As the war in Afghanistan keeps getting worse.

He'll soon tell us all - every Dick, Mary, and Tom
How he plans to deal with his own "Vietnam."

It's an eight-year-old war; people ask "Can we win it?"
Well, it seems till we do, we plan to stay in it.
