Wrong Number
Lovers of music, en masse
Were enjoying the music, alas, When the shrill and crass tone Of somebody's phone Revealed a distinct lack of class.
Ever since my days in broadcasting, I’ve had an irresistible impulse to turn news stories into some kind lyric or rhyming thing…couplets or otherwise. Of course, this was strictly forbidden on the air.
Since I’m no longer on the air…on a regular basis, at least…I’ve decided to share this impulse with you.
Please feel free to comment, pro and con. I have relatively thick skin…especially around the brain area…and may very well answer you in sonnet-form.
Of course, I must ask that you:
Please keep all your comments pristine;
Crisp and fit for a queen.
And if you’ve got the time,
You might make your words rhyme.
Have fun and try not to be mean:o))
