A ringing cell phone disrupted a live performance of Gustav Mahler's Ninth Symphony at the Lincoln Center in New York, Tuesday night. Director Alan Gilbert stopped the New York Philharmonic until the owner of the phone turned off the device.

Were enjoying the music, alas,
When the shrill and crass tone
Of somebody's phone
Revealed a distinct lack of class.
